Body Precision Pilates Teacher Training
The Body Precision Pilates Teacher Training Program teaches the highest quality of the classical work originated by Joseph Pilates. The BP Teacher Training goal is to produce successful teachers who clearly understand body mechanics relative to Pilates and safely yet creatively teach purposeful lessons to work towards correct alignment and balance. The comprehensive program focuses on the proven concept of layering in exercises safely based on client needs. The program teaches how to evaluate client compensations and how to modify safely for all body types. The result is highly skilled teachers who empower their clients to transform their health and “Return to Life” as Joseph Pilates described in his writing.
The Body Precision Training program was developed in 1998 by Beth Downey who had previously founded the Body Precision Pilates Studio in 1995. The Pilates studio, now owned by Rachael Bridgens, and the training program continue to work hand in hand providing the highest level of Pilates instruction and service to their clients. The training program currently boasts over 400 graduates. Beth has been teaching Pilates since 1996 and completed both The Pilates Comprehensive Training Program and the Master’s Program at the renowned Pilates Center of Boulder.
The Body Precision comprehensive curriculum is now being offered in modules to account for time and financial constraints. This offers flexibility in completing portions of the training at different times as schedule and budget allow. In addition, Body Precision has comprehensive training manuals and downloadable videos to support the workshop hours. You can choose to do portions of the training or complete the entire program, learning every exercise on every piece of Pilates equipment.
Along with learning the exercise repertoire, you will be taught teaching skills which result in the development of a successful and comprehensive Pilates instructor. The workshop hours go hand in hand with the apprentice program to apply the lecture information to a practical setting. There is also a 6 hour anatomy course to understand the muscles and bones as they relate to Pilates. In addition, written, teaching and performance tests are required as part of the process to increase the skill level as well as contribute to the overall learning process.
